Marlene Marlow plays Angela. Marlene Marlow is one of Germany´s most beautiful and talented tv actresses. She playedparts in many German tv-shows
and movies like "Notruf 112", "Der Hauptmann von Köpenick" with Harald Juhnke and did star in the ZDF prime time series "Die Rettungsflieger" playing a doctor.

Unfortunately the skirt that came along with Marlene´s costume was still at the tailor while we already started shooting, so Marlene had to wear the one above. In the later shot outdoor scenes-shot AFTER the first apartment scenes - she finally wears the right one.
Marlene, Kerstin and Claudia all were involved in the project very early and it was the actresses who suggested to add the scenes in which Angela is tortured with the rat. This scenes were not in my original script and the actresses took care of the rat and as I did not like the idea of shooting with a rat, Kerstin finally got us one. After we have shot the scenes, however, I was very glad we did it.
All actresses went very well along with the little rat that was very professional and making no trouble at all.
Directing Marlene and discussing scenes was really fun, especially when Marlene talked with the gag in her mouth like here when setting up the
scenes in the kitchen when she cuts her ropes.
I knew we would need lots of stills for promotion and cover, so I decided to take the photos my self with my Nikon F 601 AF. I used color and black and white films, for the color photos I usually took the Kodak Ektar 100, a film with very interesting colors, kind of artificial like in the movies of the movies made in the 50s and 60s. Today the re-made Ektar looks a little bit different, I really preferred the old one we used for the 1994 Schulfeindin shooting.
above:
Marlene and Kerstin rehearsing a very emontional scenes that show the hate relationship between the two young women. Kerstin plays the evil Miriam who smirks and really enjoys to have the beautiful Angela helpless at her mercy. She is totally in controll why Marlene plays Angela in a way showing her anger in a quiet bit very effctive way, her facial expression making it quiet clear she would like to kill Miriam.
below: there is even more tension in a later scene, when the evil Kerstin gags Angela again. Angela, with tears in her eyes, is not the helpless victim who cannot even scream or talk and
has to endure all the horrible tortures Miriam invents to humiliate her. The roles are now totally switched: Angela, the former most popular girl in school is now pushed around and humiliated by
former underdog Miriam.
